Hey everyone. Bad News Kids chapter 3 is coming along really really nicely now. It should definitely be online soon, and I’m really excited about it. This is where things begin to pick up and there’s lots of action and fun. So be sure to check back around that time!

the adventure continues this friday!! chapter two is now completed and will be online february 17th. i just reread the chapter after finishing up some last minute lettering and i could not be more excited to see what all of you think! i know it’s been a few months since chapter one came out, so i encourage you to glance over it one more time before friday. hope all of you enjoy it and please shoot us an email or comment and let us know what you think!
for every comic hillmon and i make, i usually pass out a pdf to a few friends for editing and their thoughts before it’s released. here’s the cover made for that for chapter two:

here’s some extra pics from the past couple of weeks. jared actually drew the last one. yeah, he’s an artist too. kind of. hillmon seems to really enjoy doing extra art and fun concepts on the comics we make. we’re still working hard on issue two, and it should be out sometime in december. but i can’t make any promises with school, work, and holidays. we’ll see. enjoy.
happy halloween and all that! our traffic has finally started to slow down a bit, which is understandable. chapter one has been up for a bit now, so thanks to everyone who took the time to check it out. if you’re new here be sure to read through it and let us know what you think. we’re working hard on chapter two and it should be up in a few weeks.
until then, here are some of the original character sketches of the transformed boys. you can see some slight changes were made since then. we actually went through quite a bit of sketching to get something we were both happy with, but i think hillmon reall nailed it.
chapter one has been up for a little over a week, and the response and traffic has been much more than anticipated. thanks so much to everyone who’s checked it out! i know there’s a ton of webcomics out there, so reading ours is a big deal to us and i hope you can stick around for chapter two.
i emailed links to some creators who inspire me and make awesome comics, and the feedback has been generally good. i’m a huge fan of jeff lemire (sweet tooth, animal man) and he seems like a great guy from the communication i’ve had with him. after reading BNK, he said, “really nice looking work… great storying telling.”
giannis milonogiannis (old city blues) said, “…really fun stuff so far… you can really tell it’s your own thing.”
and josceline fenton (hemlock) told us, “looks great so far!”
and finally, tom from geek syndicate gave very kind words saying, “It sets up the story brilliantly and leaves you wanting, no, begging for more.”
